Lindsay Lohan was angered by Grand Theft Auto V in December for apparently using her in the game without her permission, and she threatened to sue. Now the star is ready to move forward with the lawsuit, launching it on her birthday.
The picture of a woman in a bikini on the front cover appeared to resemble Lohan and the game does feature a whiny celebrity with auburn-colored hair named Lacey Jonas who is constantly followed by paparazzi. There is no actual evidence that the game took inspiration from Lohan, but it was enough for her.
July 2, Lindsay decided to finally file the lawsuit against the game-makers Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive for creating the Lacey Jonas character as an “unquivocal” reference to her.
According to a report by Forbes, the suit claims, “the portraits of the Plaintiff (Lohan) incorporated her image, likeness, clothing, outfits, Plaintiff’s clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by the Plaintiff that were for sale to the public at least two years.”
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive both have yet to respond to the lawsuit.
