Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup a.k.a. the Powerpuff Girls are coming back to T.V. after a long 11 years off. With a successful 78-episode run, full-length movie release, and some Emmy’s behind them, the show is going to pick right back up with some new adventures.
The show, which initially premiered in 1998, follows three young sisters created by their scientist ‘father’ with sugar, spice, everything nice, and a little Chemical X. Their creation left the girls with superpowers, which they use to fight crimes caused by their monkey nemesis MoJo JoJo.
The girls will be back on Cartoon Network with a full licensing program, according to Variety. Rob Sorcher, chief content officer of Cartoon Network, tells that they are “calling these girls back into action based upon an overwhelming demand for sugar, spice and Chemical X.”
‘Powerpuff Girls’ is set to reappear on the air in 2016.
